Daaraan herinnert het Deutsche Textilmuseum (in de historische wijk Linn) en het &#8216;Haus der Seidenkultur&#8217; in de stad. Vele parken, voortvloeiend uit de landgoeden van de zijdebarons, zijn een bezoek waard en bepalen ook vandaag nog het stadsbeeld, net als de idyllische stadstuin. De binnenstad, omringd door vier vesten (met de winkelstraten Hoch, Rhein- en K\u00f6nigsstra\u00dfe) biedt shopping-fans een grote winkelbelevenis.<\/p>\n<p>Uitstapjes die de moeite waard zijn, zijn verder nog de dierentuin van Krefeld en het indrukwekkende Kaiser-Wilhelm-Museum. Ook de in Bauhaus-stijl door Mies van der Rohe gebouwde musea Haus Esters en Haus Lange zijn echte bezienswaardigheden. Bovendien mag je een rit met de historische stoomtrein Schluff niet missen.
