Zoals het huis van de kompel in Kamp-Lintfort, waar je een woning van een typische mijnwerkersfamilie uit 1910 beleeft en als het ware achter de kleerkast in een mijntunnel van de mijn kunt stappen. Of het Royal-Airforce-Museum in Weeze, waar gevechtsvliegtuigen, schietstoelen en uniformen tentoongesteld worden en herinneren aan de tijd van de Britse luchtmacht langs de Niederrhein. Buitengewoon, maar een echte bezienswaardigheid is ook het Traktorenmuseum in Sonsbeck, waar je zelf achter het stuur van een landbouwvoertuig mag kruipen, en het Rhein- und Schifffahrtsmuseum in Emmerik aan de Rijn, waar zelfs een kleine onderzee\u00ebr wordt tentoongesteld.<\/p>\n<p>Museum Schloss Moyland biedt grote moderne kunst. Het pittoreske waterkasteel heeft de wereldwijd grootste verzameling van stukken van Joseph Beuys, de omstreden kunstenaar van wereldfaam, die met kunstwerken zoals &#8216;Fettecke&#8217; de mensen polariseerde en fascineerde. In het kasteelpark kunnen indrukwekkende sculpturen worden bewonderd, die harmonisch in de tuin opgaan.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space Toegankelijke sculpturen zonder omheiningen, belangrijke verzamelingen, ateliers voor kunstenaars: Een refugium, waartoe ook een voormalig Nato-raketstation met hallen, hangaars en bunkersystemen behoort- Kunst, architectuur en landschap vormen een eenheid, die uniek mag worden genoemd.<\/p>\n<p>Moderne kunst en uitstekende architectuur vormen ook de basis voor het Museum Abteiberg in M\u00f6nchengladbach. Stukken van Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter of Gregor Schneider kunnen bewonderd worden in het futuristische gebouw, dat als &#8216;Kunstwerk voor de kunst&#8217; wordt gezien. De architectuur werd meervoudig bekroond, 2016 werd het huis uitgeroepen tot het &#8216;Museum van het jaar&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>De stad Krefeld is nauw verbonden met de Bauhaus-architectuur. De huizen Lange en Esters, voormalige fabrikantenvilla&#8217;s in Bauhaus-stijl, gebouwd door de architect Mies van der Rohe, zijn tegenwoordig tentoonstellingsplatformen voor het moderne wonen. Musea zoals het Kaiser-Wilhelm-Museum in Krefeld, het Begas-museum in Heinsberg of het Kurhaus Kleef tonen klassieke kunstverzamelingen.<\/p>\n<p>De regionale geschiedenis wordt familievriendelijk gepresenteerd in het Niederrheinse openluchtmuseum in Grefrath, en tot de publiekslievelingen behoort het LVR-Arch\u00e4ologische Park Xanten. Daar beleven bezoekers de oude Romeinse stad Colonia Ulpia Traiana met het amfitheater, de haventempel, de oeroude stadsmuren en de Romeinse herbergen.
