REACT-EU" funding programme develops culture, nature and culinary delights as a flagship for the Lower Rhine region
This project is being funded as part of the European Union’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Experience cultural highlights and enjoy regional cuisine: That's what the Lower Rhine stands for. This tourist profile of the region between the Rhine and the Meuse is now to be sharpened even further. The combination of important cultural sites, fascinating scenery and culinary joie de vivre is to become the Lower Rhine's great advertisement. Under the motto "City. Country. Niederrhein.", the transformation into a culinary and culturally sustainable region is to be supported by the state of NRW with funding from the European Regional Development Fund. Title of the programme: REACT-EU. The aim is to support digitalisation in the hospitality and tourism industry and thus contribute to employment and value creation in tourism, according to the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs. In this way, the economic consequences of the corona pandemic are also to be cushioned. The Lower Rhine Tourism (NT) is in charge of the project. In addition to the NT area with the districts of Kleve, Wesel, Viersen and Heinsberg, the Rhine district of Neuss and the cities of Krefeld and Mönchengladbach are also involved. The new project is intended to advance digital marketing for the Lower Rhine. New communication formats are to be created. In the form of videos, photos, blogs or newsletters, special target groups are to be addressed better and more directly with these digital advertising formats, and new customers are to be won for the Lower Rhine.
